Jisc have recently completed a series of workshops, showcasing the Professional Development Diagnostic Tool for BCE around the UK. The tool, developed by Jisc Netskills, allows you to self-assess against key professional attributes, derive a personal skills profile and identify development resources. You can also upload relevant resources and leave comments.
Attendees in Newcastle, Edinburgh, Birmingham and London had the opportunity to consider their own personal development, and to have a hands-on trial of the tool, including carrying out a diagnosis of their own standing against the AURIL/Jisc Professional Development Framework for BCE.
The reaction to the tool has been very positive with attendees seeing the value of the tool in their own career planning, development and the benefits it can bring to recruitment and appraisals.
All of the feedback from the tool has now been taken into account and has formed the basis of a series of updates and enghancements which will take place over the Summer – details of the release of the enhanced tool will be posted here on the Jisc BCE blog.
Jisc are also delivering a session on the tool at the Universities Association for Lifelong Learning CPD Conference How to engage employers: A multi-stakeholder perspective in London on 20th September. Complete the conference booking form to reserve your place.
