Intellectual Asset Management for Universities

A new strategy guide to help universities better manage their intellectual assets was recently launched by the Intellectual Property Office (IPO).  As well as providing readers with a general introduction to the area of Intellectual Property (IP), the guide covers:

  • IP and the university business model.
  • Structuring IP policies.
  • IP contracts – ownership and access rights, and benefits of collaborative research.
  • Monitoring and evaluation.

Read the guide here: Intellectual asset management for universities.

It was released shortly after the Hargreaves Report, ‘Digital Opportunity – A Review of Intellectual Property and Growth‘ which is also well worth reading. You can find out more about how JISC supports these recommendations via their latest press release.
