Key Enablers for Productive Collaboration

Important update re: JISC BCE Workshop, 4th February

This is to confirm that the JISC Business and Community Engagement workshop in Oxford tomorrow will go ahead as planned.  Most of the train services are back to normal, London and the South East having been the worst affected.

We are aware that weather conditions may prevent one or two people from attending tomorrow.  If this is the case please contact Jane Charlton on 0776 0173223.

We advise you to check National Rail and BBC Weather websites for up-to-date information.  If you have any queries at all regarding the workshop please contact Jane as soon as possible.

The final in a series of three JISC Business and Community Engagement (BCE) consultation workshops will take place at the Oxford Centre on 4th February 2009.  Together these workshops aim to explore the key concerns of both Further/Higher Education institutions and their partners/clients regarding collaboration, the promotion of and access to UK institutions’ range of resources and services.  If there are any challenges you feel JISC can cover during this event please take the time to fill in the survey below.  Synthesis from this event will be collated and posted at a later date via this blog, while the following link will take you to a short summary outlining previous activity.

Pre-Workshop Activity

Before the workshop takes place JISC would appreciate input from delegates and the wider BCE community on the following areas which will be used to promote discussion throughout the day.

  1. Rate your top concerns. Based upon discussions that took place in the first two consultation workshops a list of top concerns have been developed with regards to the way institutions work with their partners/clients and vice versa.  Please attempt to rate your top concerns by filling in the following, short, survey - Survey: Key Concerns

  2. Your view on BCE themes.  Business and community engagement is an extremely complex landscape, overlapping various themes and agendas.  We would appreciate it, if you could attempt the following card sorting exercise to group BCE actvities into related themes – BCE Themes Exercise.

  3. Note key challenges to cover on the day. The forthcoming workshop will aim to explore scenarios which address key challenges, either from the top concerns list above or from others suggested. Please outline any key concerns that you wish to see included via the survey.

If you have any other comments relating to this post please feel free to add a comment and/or email the event coordinators.
